Play More Tetris.

Packing is never fun.
But broken down it can be made less stressful.
First of all keep a moving folder.
Write down what you need to do:
Buy packing boxes.
Who to notify for you change of address.
What to give to charity and if you need to organise the charity picking it up.
What to sell.
What to clean.
Anything to fix?
Firstly, work through each room as if you were decluttering (link!).
Get that rubbish bin bag and charity bag at the ready then throw/donate them as soon as you can. You don’t want unwanted bags lying around as you start to pack.
Then get ready to play a few games of Tetris. I do actually advise you to play real Tetris beforehand. It’ll get you in the mindset. It’ll warm up your brain. I do it, and it works. If you don’t have access to a game of Tetris, then play any puzzle to get those brain cells firing.
Make sure you label your boxes with the room they belong to and a brief outline about its contents.
Once you’ve finished one box, close it and put it into a corner. If there’s a bit of space left leave the flap open and if you run out of space in another box see if that object will fit in there.
Don’t be afraid to ask for help from family, friends or a professional organiser. The quicker and smoother your move preparation runs, the more stress-free moving day will be.
Tip: get a hold of small packing boxes, you’ll need more of these than you realise.
