Make Time for Important Things.

You want to write that book. You want to create that song. You want to paint. You want to learn that language.

We all have things we aspire to learn yet we just don’t seem to have enough time.

Here’s the simple answer: make time and make it a habit.

There's an old wives tale that it takes 21 days to create a habit but sorry to disappoint it can take a little longer than that. But what matters is that if you do something everyday, even if it’s just for five minutes a day you’ll get into that routine and before you know it, you’re ten chapters into your memoirs.

Squeeze it in. If you’re a morning person, wake up ten minutes earlier. If your brain works best at night, sacrifice that ten minutes of sleep. You’ll be able to adapt after a few days.

We also say we wish we could spend more time with friends and family. So do just that. Decide that this month I’m going to see two friends and one family member. Then next month meet three friends and two family members. See how many you can see in a month. See how your relationships flourish because you made the decision to make time for them.

If you work too much and it’s getting you down, take a step back and see where most of your time goes. Can you change it? Can you ask your boss for different hours? Can you change careers?

Of course, you’ll feel scared of changing but fear is there to push you and to make you feel pleasantly surprised when things turn out better than you expected. If you take the leap and find precious time to do things you love, then it’s totally worth it. If you don’t, that’s okay. You took a chance and learnt from the experience.

If you need help, then that’s what I’m here for. I can guide you through those making those small (or big) changes to your life to give you time. After all, time stands still for no-one but you can ride alongside it with a smile.
